It took PPJ a long time to figure out the computer, mostly because of the mouse. Once she was in kindergarten, they had a computer-based reading program they used, and they got her a touch screen so she could access it. Once she did that for awhile, she figured it out and now that she is in first grade she can use a touchpad on a laptop and also a regular mouse. She also can use an ipod, ipad, my Android smartphone, the Nintendo DS, mostly by herself. She does try to play games that are too sophisticated for her (Hotel Dusk, Rune Factory) but she seems to enjoy just messing with them. She has more trouble with Wii games where you have to point the remote at the tv to make something happen but she can play other games on them (although she is not allowed to use that by herself). Anyway, I'm rambling; long story short, she's very good at using technology, mostly because her parents are computer dorks I think. Although I would say most kids are pretty good at it these days. And yes, DST messes me up badly. Part of it is PPJ doesn't go by clocks, having ASD, so it takes her a week or two to start getting on the new time. When we gain an hour it's easier than losing it, but it's still disruptive and she doesn't sleep so well anyway. D:
