Code Doctor Magazines are expensive
Jan. 27th, 2008 01:12 pmI finally watched the last four episodes of Code Geass last night. I'm kind of at a loss. They pulled out all the stops and made some crazy, ohnotheydidn't plot twists and an cliffhanger ending, so it sucked me in badly. I guess I feel as if somewhere, in the back of my mind, I really still don't like it and they just manipulated me by going to the edge of batshit to keep me hooked. My sister tells me that the next season is out this spring, so I will probably have to just keep watching it and see where it all ends up.
I still can't believe what happened though, and it kind of makes me sad.
In other news, I have been watching every stupid little extra or special feature on series 1-3 of Doctor Who, just because I don't really have anything to watch. Well, I have lots of anime I could watch, but I have been doing lots of sewing with my TV watching, and I can't really read subtitles and sew at the same time so I need something in English. My random knowledge of the show is therefore growing and growing.
I went to the bookstore yesterday, and I was once again shocked at the price of magazines. I remember when I was young (and poor) and you could get a mass market paperback (in my case, usually a romance novel) for around $3.75. I was crushed when they went up to $4.50... that many more quarters I had to scavenge and save, and I could read a book in a day, even then. And yes, there was a library in my town, but my loser mom wouldn't take me and I was way too little to drive.
Anyway, my point was not to digress into my illustrious past, but to point out that now, a magazine is typically five to seven dollars. Or twelve even, if you're like me and don't pay attention that the craft magazine is actually from the UK and so it's twice as expensive.
